Painter, born in Glasgow. He lived in Edinburgh and studied at the College of Art, 1972–76, being awarded a postgraduate year in 1976–7 and the Adam Bruce Thomson Prize. In 1980 he won a Latimer Award and in 1981 a Guthrie Award. Churchill appeared in group exhibitions at the Stirling Gallery, the 369 Gallery in Edinburgh, and the Roseangle Art Centre in Dundee; in 1981 he participated in Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh, show Contemporary Art from Scotland. Churchill had solo exhibitions at 369 Gallery and Chenil Gallery. Hove Museum and Art Gallery holds his work. He was an exhibitor in The Garrick/Milne Prize, 2003.
