A landscape with animals. In the foreground on the left, amongst the ferns and bracken, are two stags, fighting. One has been pushed to the ground, watched by several deer in the background. Along the left side of the picture is a wooden fence, with woods beyond. On the right is a group of grazing deer and fawns near some large oaks. In the middle ground is the fence and a gate, with woodland beyond, and a castle in the distance.
