A German Romer, decorated with raspberry prunts and half-filled with white wine stands at the corner of a marble-topped table. Behind it is a vine branch, under which are a peach and a bunch of grapes. At the edge of the table at lower left, a fly has landed near some redcurrants and fluttering below it is a peacock butterfly. Two further butterflies have landed on the redcurrant branch to the right of the composition. Above are two tall baskets of strawberries, one of which spills its fruit into a blue and white dish filled with peaches.
