Scene in a Dutch inn, with six men gathered around a wooden table playing dice, whilst a woman approaching the table from the left is carrying a tray to serve drinks. The door to the left is open, through which a brightly lit room is visible with a man talking to a soldier on guard. A fireplace is in the wall to the right behind the table, with a high mantelpiece running onto the adjacent wall lined with platters and and other objects. A drum is on the stone floor in the bottom right corner with several pieces of armour and a halberd leaning against the wall.
