Countless generations of Alan Watson’s ancestors have been involved in the Scottish fishing and whaling industry of the East Neuk of Fife. His works often tell a story about people working at sea. This fisherman is ‘shooting the net’ which means throwing fishing nets out to sea in hope of catching fish.
