A portrait bust depicting William Harvey, English physician and discoverer of the circulation of the blood. He is depicted wearing his academic robes over a waistcoat, with a moustache and short pointed beard and curly short hair. The work is stood upon a round pedestal. It appears to be a plaster copy after an original bust by Peter Scheemakers, which was commissioned by Harvey's patron Richard Mead, and gifted to the Royal College of Physicians in 1739.
