More about

North Lincolnshire Museums Service holds a great variety of artwork, from 17th-century oil paintings, to work by local artists.

Some of our most fabulous oil paintings were originally collected to furnish Normanby Hall in the 1960s, and the collection has grown from this point. One of our most prized pieces was purchased for £5 in the 1960s. This painting proved to be the missing Emperor Otho from Rubens’ Twelve Caesars series, three of which are still missing. We are very proud to have a painting by an Old Master in our collection.

Our collection also houses a range of paintings acquired from artists who have won competitions held by the local art group.
