'The very first requirement in a hospital is that it should do the sick no harm.' – Florence Nightingale. For over 20 years our charity has been lending original Scottish artworks to hospitals and other care environments throughout the country. Mostly through generous donation, the large collection of almost 1,400 works of art includes paintings by nationally and internationally recognised artists such as Callum Innes, Will Maclean, Steven Campbell, Alan Davie and Victoria Crowe. We currently have artworks in more than 60 sites throughout Scotland from Skye to Haddington, Inverness to Dumfries and Ayrshire to Edinburgh. Recognising the cultural significance and the educational value of the collection, Art in Healthcare provides art talks and workshops for patients and care home residents with the artwork always at the core of our programmes.
