MRCC Brixham, opened in 1984 and is currently one of 19 coastguard stations located around the coast. We coordinate all coastal incidents (Search and Rescue) between Exmouth and Dodman Point. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is responsible for maritime safety for the UK.
However, under current proposals MRCC Brixham is due for closure in 2014.
