More about

Award-winning Fermanagh County Museum is located within historic Enniskillen Castle, picturesquely situated beside the River Erne. The Castle is managed by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency and also includes the Inniskillings Museum. The whole site is promoted as ‘Enniskillen Castle Museums’, the gateway to discovering the heritage of the region.

Fermanagh County Museum was established by Fermanagh District Council in 1976. The Museum aims to ‘safeguard the history of Fermanagh as a source of enjoyment, education and culture for all’ through its collections, imaginative displays and lively exhibitions and events programme. Alongside local history, natural history, archaeology, decorative arts and folklife, the Museum houses a small but significant fine art collection including oil paintings. The collection has developed through generous donations and purchases with support from major funding bodies and the Museum Friends organisation.
