More about

The National Museum of Rural Life opened in 2001 and lies between the towns of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire and Carmmunock in Glasgow. The Museum combines an award-winning exhibition building, which houses the national country life collection and the historic working farm of Wester Kittochside with its Georgian farmhouse which exhibits the furniture and effects of the Reid family who farmed there for over 400 years. Paintings on display and in storage include key examples of the work of Scottish artists Joseph B. Edwards (Joe Edwards) and William Shiels.
