This fine sixteenth-century tower house stands in beautiful parkland near Nairn on the Moray Firth. It contains unusual plaster ceilings and a major art collection, and tells the fascinating story of the Brodie family, who were associated with the area for over 800 years. The castle houses fine French furniture; English, continental and Chinese porcelain; and a collection of paintings, which includes seventeenth-century Dutch art, nineteenth-century English watercolours and early twentieth-century works. The magnificent library contains some 6,000 volumes. There is a woodland walk with a large pond, and a nature trail, which has access to wildlife observation hides. In springtime the grounds are carpeted with the many varieties of daffodils for which Brodie Castle is famous.
