Somerset Military Museum displays oil paintings in its gallery in the Museum of Somerset.

The Somerset Military Museum tells the story of the regiments of Somerset in war and peacetime focusing on the following regiments: The Somerset Light Infantry (Prince Albert's); The Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry; The West Somerset Yeomanry; The North Somerset Yeomanry; Somerset Militia, Rifle Volunteers and Territorials; The Light Infantry and its successor regiment, The Rifles.

The gallery introduces visitors to the wider background of the formation and development of Somerset’s regiments, and explores why soldiers fight for their country.

The Museum of Somerset is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am–5pm. If you are planning a visit to see a particular painting, please check with the Museum in advance. Paintings can sometimes be moved at short notice and opening times may vary.
