More about

This collection of self portraits was amassed by the writer Ruth Borchard who, with a limit of 21 guineas for each work, brought together this unparalleled collection of drawings, watercolours and oil paintings by artists of themselves. The original collection presents a fascinating overview of British portraiture in the twentieth century, whilst the Next Generation Collection of recent acquirements aims to continue Ruth Borchard's project into the twenty-first century.

The Ruth Borchard Collection is on display at Piano Nobile Kings Place for three months each year. Please contact the gallery for the next display.
