Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life has a large, outstanding collection tracing the fascinating history of Mid Devon. The displays include the 'Tivvy Bumper' G. W. R. steam engine, local industries (particularly the Heathcoat lace factory), farm waggons and the history of agriculture, and the everyday home life of Mid Devon folk.

Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life is a local history museum which is open February to Christmas, Mondays to Fridays 10.30am–4.30pm and Saturdays 10am–1pm. We are open on Bank Holidays. The entrance in Beck's Square is opposite the short stay car park, and a couple of minutes walk from the bus station and the long stay car park. The Museum has a small collection of paintings, some of which are held in store. If you have a query about a particular painting please contact us.
