Painter and teacher, born in Forfar, Angus, who gained his diploma in drawing and painting from Dundee College of Art, 1953, and a post-diploma scholarship there, 1954. Taught in Fife, latterly at Buckhaven High School, 1957–86, settling in Cellardyke. Was elected a professional member of SSA, 1963, winning a Scottish Arts Council Award, 1970. Took part in group shows at RSA, RWS and SSWA, and Glasgow Group, Douglas & Foulis Gallery, Edinburgh; Dundee and Aberdeen Art Galleries; and The Little Gallery, Pittenweem, also exhibited his work. Solo exhibitions included Loomshop Gallery, Lower Largo; Dunfermline Museum; and Lomond Centre, Glenrothes. Fife and Lanarkshire Councils and IBM hold examples.
