Art UK is an independent charity and plays a vital role in democratising access to the nation's art
The UK holds one of the greatest public collections of art in the world, yet around 80% is not on display. Through our work, we are making what is publicly owned publicly accessible. Help us achieve this.
You can support us financially in a number of ways but you can start by becoming an Art UK Citizen.
We play a major role in supporting public art collections, by improving their accessibility and sustainability
For most collections, Art UK is the only place where the public can see their artworks online. Through our shared digital platform, we help UK public collections to reach entirely new audiences across the world.
Our Art Detective platform enables collections to make new discoveries, contributes valuable knowledge about their artworks and invites researchers to work in creative collaboration together.
Showing art online creates wonderful learning opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds
Each year our learning and engagement programme enables thousands of people to engage, learn from and be inspired by the nation's art. Through our work with schools and collections across the whole country, we are inspiring the next generation of creative talent.

Without the support of our generous donors, we could not do any of this
Some of our costs are covered by regular funding from Arts Council England and partnership income from collections.
However, to continue our work, we still need to raise over £400,000 every year from grants, sponsorship and donations from individuals.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference and helps us to open up the nation's art to the world.
Start your journey with us by becoming an Art UK Citizen and help us to spread the word. Or you can make a one-off donation.
Thank you for your support.
