Painter and museum curator, born in Glasgow, where he remained, the son of a local authority art supervisor. Hannah graduated from Glasgow University with a Master of Arts degree and studied at the city’s School of Art, 1932–5, where his teachers included Hugh Adam Crawford and J D Revel. As well as being deputy director for art for Glasgow Museums and Art Galleries Hannah was for some years in charge of the Burrell Collection. He also edited the publication Architectural Prospect. Glasgow Art Club member.
