This drawing is carefully and accurately executed, it has a sense of Gill's aptitude with textile design. Gill worked prolifically creating clothing and huge dense embroideries, many of which have disappeared into private collections, however, the Collection de l'Art Brut in Lausanne, Switzerland, holds a magnificent dress and embroidery made by Gill. There are some of the familiar ‘staircase’ patterns that appear in other Gill's works, and also a small lionesque head showing perhaps a more playful, childish side to Gill.
