Rural scene outside a thatched country inn with an itinerant musician playing the hurdy gurdy. The performer is surrounded by a group of children; two women stand in the doorway of the inn watching him play. There is also a single figure in the foreground to the left, sitting alone in shadow. Two characters emerge from the inn disturbed by the noise, the scene is coloured in sepia tones of brown and yellow.
