A head and shoulders portrait in an oval frame. Lord Milton is shown in judge's robes and wig, the shoulders in profile, the head almost full face. The canvas has been re-backed. The picture was exhibited as a Ramsay at a loan collection of Scottish paintings at Edinburgh in 1884, and the attribution is very probable.
