James Pulham & Son were one of the most important landscape designers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Michael Angelo Pulham drew inspiration from the classical art of ancient Greece and Rome and designed many of the garden ornaments for James Pulham & Son. He died in 1915, aged 88, and his family placed this terracotta angel he designed on his and his wife's grave in Cheshunt Cemetery.
