A large three-ring armillary sphere. The date is given as 'MCMXCV' and '1995'. Ten minute interval marks are cut into a broad equatorial band, placed around an inscribed round stone on the ground, all located at the centre of a circle of concentric rings of paving setts. Beyond this are further incomplete concentric rings of setts alternating with grass rings, arranged as a maze.

Inscription description

iInscribed in a circle upon a round stone on the ground at the base of the sphere: Midsummer Housing Association 1995; and on a metal plaque on a pole nearby, in raised letters: ARMILLARY SPHERE / By Justin Tunley, 1995 / Designed in 1995 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of MK Housing / Association and their development as Midsummer Housing. The / artistic brief was to use something related to the Midsummer / Housing logo of a sundial. Constructed in laser cut steel with stone / carving, the date in Roman and Arab numerals 'MCMXCV' denotes / the unveiling in 1995 on Midsummer's Day.
