Thick, impasto painting of a view of Kilbrannan Sound in Arran, Scotland, looking across the water towards the rocky mountains beyond. The colours are deep and luxurious with a royal blue for the sea, green and brown tones for the hills and a bright, white clouded sky. This work shows a new departure into a more formal exploration of landscape painting.
