A Portland stone statue of Bacchus, which appears to be derived from antique prototypes. He is portrayed leaning against a tree stump which is entwined with vines that grow from the base of the statue and he is clutching a bunch of grapes in his right hand. A faun’s skin is thrown over his left shoulder and held in place by a strap over his right shoulder. His head is turned to his left and his hair is tied with a classical band and further grapes adorn his hair. In his left hand he holds a vine covered rustic staff.
