F. W. Watts is mentioned in the Society’s 'Transactions' in 1817, 1820 and 1821 when he was awarded the large Gold medal, in the class for artists and others for an Original Historical Painting in Oil, his subject was ‘Ubald and the Sirens' (from 'Tasso').
