Scene depicting a group of men and women in what appears to be an underground cavern, lit only by a lamp or candle shining from the right. A young fair-haired man stands right of centre, playing the bagpipes to a row of women and children. Some sit barefoot whilst others wear shoes, but all of them are wrapped in blankets or shawls and clasping hot drinks, seated against the cracked beige wall looking up at him. His dramatic shadow is cast against the wall behind them. Behind him a second man sits on the ground with a hot drink and a pipe. Newspapers including the 'Scots Independent' and 'An Gaidheal' are scattered on the floor.
