A brass doorstop in the form of a dog in right profile on an oblong base. Its head is turned back, with droopy ears and the fur at neck accentuated; the tail is curled round over the back legs.

The house and contents of Shaw's Corner were bequeathed to the National Trust by George Bernard Shaw in 1950, together with Shaw's photographic archive.
