The Duke of Wellington is shown on a motionless horse, which nevertheless has its right hind leg and its left foreleg advanced, and its head turned to the left. He wears a cocked hat with a cockade, a coat, and hessian boots. With one hand he holds the reins, and with the other a telescope. At the four corners of the pedestal are soldiers of English, Welsh, Irish and Scottish regiments, wearing uniforms contemporary with the Battle of Waterloo.
