A small carving from Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) depicting a guinea fowl. Stained dark brown in colour the bird features a large body, small head with large eyes and two long thin peg legs. The main body has a repetitive incised triangular pattern that has been left the original colour of the wood and contrast against the darker stained wood. Probably made for the tourist trade.
