An octagonal column rising from a square plinth. The restored upper part of the cross has sunken cinquefoil-headed (forms resembling flowers or leaves) panels holding small cast iron plates with Percy emblems (alternating crescents and fetterlocks). The top has a swept panelled dome and a cast iron finial with gilded cross. The cross was for a time surmounted by a lantern.
