A statuette of Nicolò Paganini, made of painted plaster with a separate glass dome and base. This small statuette was for many years in the collection of the London violin dealers, Withers, and the separate bow may have been made locally; it is not part of the original object. The image depicts Paganini like a gnarled skeleton, with powerful hands.

The caricature statuettes by Dantan were produced in plaster or bronze. They were often reproduced as lithographs. Dantan also produced images of pianists Franz Liszt, Sigismund Thalberg and Henri Herz, composer Hector Berlioz, the double bass player Domenico Dragonetti and the operatic bass Luigi Lablache, among others.
