Inscription description
suggested by the poem of Peter Bell by William Wordsworth not yet painted. After the close of the poem, Peter Bell is supposed to retire into a cavern, in which he continues stung with remorse and bewailing atrocities until day break. Painted by Sir George Beaumont at Coleorton in the year 1807.
