The painting is of a performance of 'Swan Lake' and it is thought that that one of the male dancers dressed up as a swan in the background is Matthew Bourne, who the film 'Billy Elliot' is based on. Matthew Bourne has apparently been to the theatre several times. It is also believed that the costume the male dancers wear is the same as that 'Billy Elliot' is shown wearing in the film when he dances in 'Swan Lake'.
