In the centre of the background is the church, its steeple reaching up into the sky. On the extreme left, in the middleground is a building almost as tall as the church; beneath it are houses. Outside the church is a bus, and old fashioned cars drive along the street. Trees grow on the pavement in the foreground: underneath them are market stalls, with people crowded round sheltering beneath umbrellas. On the right of the picture, and on the other side of the road, is a small monument, and more people with umbrellas.
