Anna Souter is an independent writer, editor and curator based in London, with a particular interest in the intersections between contemporary art, nature and the environment. Her writing spans fiction and non-fiction, drawing on tropes from academia, memoir, poetry and science writing. Many of her texts are inspired by encounters or collaborations with others – from artists or friends to nonhuman others such as insects or plants.
Anna has written for publications including Burlington Contemporary, The Brooklyn Rail, Artsy, Hyperallergic, this is tomorrow, Dateagle Art, The Ecologist, Roman Road Journal and The Learned Pig. As a researcher, copywriter and editor, she has worked with arts organisations including Roman Road Gallery, D&AD, SPOT Sculpture Park and Outdoor Tendencies, The Art Story, Obsidian Records, CultureLabel and Unit Editions.
