David Ekserdjian is a Trustee of Art UK and of Sir John Soane's Museum, and a former Trustee of the National Gallery and of Tate. He is Professor of History of Art and Film at the University of Leicester, and a specialist in the art of the Italian Renaissance. The author of various books, he has also organised numerous exhibitions, including Bronze (Royal Academy, 2012).

Among his Desert Island Pictures would be Correggio's The Madonna of the Basket in the National Gallery.
