After graduating with a Postgraduate Master’s degree in Sculpture from the Chelsea School of Art, Nicky won the British School of Rome Sculpture Scholarship and has shown in galleries across the country including The Royal Festival Hall, Cornerhouse and Ikon Gallery. Her love of sculpture now plays out through the private collection, commissioning significant large-scale artworks and founding and developing the education programme at Jupiter Artland. Other roles include Trustee of National Galleries Scotland, Trustee of The Fruitmarket Gallery, deputy chair of a primary school and governor of an FTE in England.

In 2009 Nicky and Robert Wilson founded Jupiter Artland, a not-for-profit sculpture park set in the 100 acres surrounding Bonnington House. Their aim is that every child in Scotland gets the chance to visit the park for free. Pieces by the late Scottish artist Ian Hamilton Finlay are joined by large-scale sculptures and land works by Andy Goldsworthy, Cornelia Parker, Antony Gormley, Phyllida Barlow and Anish Kapoor.
