Mill Green Museum and Mill, in the tiny village of Mill Green between Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield, is a little gem with loads to offer for a fun day out. You can explore the fascinating 300 year old water mill, restored to full working order. Visit the local history museum in the old mill house, bring a picnic or have a tasty cream tea on summer Sunday afternoons, from Easter to September. The site is open all year round, Tuesday to Thursday 10am–5pm plus Sundays and Bank holidays 2–5pm. The site has a lively programme of activities, events and workshops and a regularly changing programme of exhibitions.
The artworks owned by Welwyn Hatfield Museum Service are stored at Mill Green Mill & Museum. Due to limited display space, the artworks are not on permanent display. Please contact the Curator on 01707 271362 or email museum@welhat.gov.uk to arrange a mutually convenient time to view any of the items in the collection.

The art collection was begun in 1979 with the aim to accumulate pictures with local relevance. We hold an eclectic range of works which have been donated by local people or acquired with the assistance of grant aid bodies.
