From the outside you can see that Pittencrieff House was once a private residence. In fact, it was a home for nearly 300 years until Andrew Carnegie bought the grounds in 1903. It now houses a fully accessible exhibition called 'Magic of the Glen' on the ground floor.

Pittencrieff House Museum is open from April to September from 11am–5pm, and from October to March from 11am–4pm. Special opening for groups is by arrangement.
