The Princess Elizabeth Hospital collection has been brought together over the years, with much acquired since 2004, with recent artwork commissioned for a new extension to the hospital. The paintings are by local Guernsey artists with themes relating to the island, its land and seascapes, its history and its sense of identity. Recognising the benefit of the arts in the healthcare, the purpose of this collection is to create an atmosphere conducive to healing and well-being, to lessen the clinical feel and to provide a calming and welcoming environment.
