This piece illuminates at night, and projects a beam of light up to 900m high, timed to coincide with the 'BBC News at Ten' bulletin. 'Breathing' was inspired by the audio life of the building: it resembles a giant listening glass. The sculpture also stands as a memorial to all news reporters and crews who have lost their lives while on location in conflict zones. A spiral of text that winds around the glass reflects this.
