Three palm trees are depicted in the centre of the painting, the underside of the leaves are painted in light ochre, whereas the top of the leaves are illuminated in a bright light as the sun shines down. The impressionist paint strokes heighten the movement within the image and emphasise the vivid and changing colours within the scene. Several other palm trees are depicted in the background, there is green foliage sprouting in the foreground.
