Dorothy North, Lady Dacre, was the second wife of Sir Richard Lennard (1596–1630), 13th Lord Dacre. A 'very clever and attractive young woman', she married the widowed Sir Richard when she was 20 years old.
She was the daughter of Dudley North, 3rd Lord North (c.1582–1665/1666).
From 1618 to 1622 Sir Richard had been married to Elizabeth Throckmorton. The couple had had four sons, the eldest being Sir Francis Lennard (1619–1662), 14th Lord Dacre. Unfortunately, Elizabeth died in 1622, possibly during childbirth of her youngest son, Henry.
A few years later, Sir Richard married Dorothy North (d.1698). The marriage took place at St Giles, Cripplegate, in 1624 or 1625.
The couple had a son called Richard and a daughter. Their son would become Richard Barrett Lennard (1625–1696) after assuming the name of Barrett.
