This is a painting of 'Fiddlers Bid' who are leading exponents of Shetland's rich fiddle tradition. This internationally renowned seven-piece band was formed in 1991. The painting highlights (left to right) Maurice Henderson, Kevin Henderson and Christopher Stout, seen performing in Skeld hall in 1998. This work formed part of a solo exhibition by the artist entitled 'On Canvas' which consisted of paintings, drawings, and a book and CD of Shetland musicians and was commissioned by Shetland Arts Trust. It was first shown during the visit of the Tall Ships to Shetland in 1999.
