This painting depicts a parachute drop, Exercise YEO in Yibneh dropping zone, Palestine. The was the first parachute drop of 75mm howitzers, limbers, jeeps and ammunition containers in the Middle East. The equipment belonged to the 53rd Airlanding Light Regiment (Worcestershire Yeomanry) Royal Artillery. The aircraft was a Handley Page 'Halifax' A/IX's with bomb bay doors removed from 113 Squadron RAF Aquir.
