A companion painting to the portrait of William III (also in the Fermanagh County Museum collection). The portraits of William and Mary are based on the state portraits by Godfrey Kneller of 1690, and were copied in large numbers for distribution amongst the King's supporters.

The set were presented to Paul Dane, Esq., Provost of Enniskillen, by the King.
