Mrs Bennett, dressed in a lace cap and nightgown, afflicted with a skin disease covering most of her face and parts of her neck and chest. Another portrait of the same person (in the Wellcome Library collection, catalogue no.603109i) shows her after the disease has cleared up. Part of a collection of paintings depicting gentlefolk of Leeds with grievous illnesses.
