Barry (1931-2001), 12th Baron Farnham, was Pro Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England, the governing body of Freemasonry in England and Wales, from 1991 to 2001. The Pro Grand Master is the representative of the Grand Master when he is unable to attend meetings. In this portrait, which was commissioned by the United Grand Lodge of England, he is wearing the regalia of the Pro Grand Master and is shown on the main staircase at Freemasons’ Hall, London.
