Leszek Muszynski has exhibited several times at the University of Surrey in group and solo exhibitions. Born in 1923 in Halicz, Poland, Leszek settled and trained in Scotland at Edinburgh College of Art (1946–1949) under Gillies, Maxwell and Mac Taggart. Before starting a postgraduate year, during which he taught at the college, he travelled with a scholarship to Italy and France. He also taught at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen and West Surrey College of Art and Design (now University College for the Creative Arts). He took early retirement in 1984 from being Head of the Painting School to devote time to his own practice. His work is known throughout the world, having exhibited regularly in England, Switzerland and America. In England his acclaim grew with regular shows at the Scottish Gallery in London and Edinburgh.
